Conversations between a BA and a QA
The recipe calls for freshly shredded coconut.
QA: Do we have any?
Me, the BA: No, but we have dehydrated coconut powder. You can soak it in coconut water and then use it. Or just as-is.
QA: Huh, who does that? I’m going to look for another recipe.
The recipe calls for coconut milk, but I don’t have anything “coconuty” in my pantry.
Me, the BA: I guess I’ll use yogurt instead.
Also Me: No yogurt? Cashew paste will do.
Still Me: No cashews? Almonds should do.
Again Me: No almonds? What about peanuts?
Yet Me: No peanuts? Sesame?
Ultimately Me: I guess I’ll just skip it.
Moral of the story: BAs like to make things work by whatever means. QAs, as they say, like to dispel the illusion that things work.
*Adapted from a real-life conversation with my spouse, who believes in dispelling such illusions.
